Public Speaking

Over the years Mike has been on the public speaking circuit, sharing his years of sports experiences with audiences all over Ohio. Most recently he spoke at the Monday luncheon of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. His years in the business world have provided him with a unique perspective about how the lessons learned about teamwork as a high school or college athlete can and do relate to the real world of work. The relationships that he has forged over the years with well known athletes and coaches just adds to his ability to tell a story with a message. Oh, and he’ll also make you laugh.

Business Networking

As you’ve heard, hundreds of times,”It’s not What you know; It’s Who you know”. Make no mistake abouit it, Mike knows a lot of people either through his years as a radio and TV personality or from his 8 ½ years spent as President of the Richland Economic Development Corporation (REDeC). Perhaps he can help you and your business get an audience with someone that you have had a difficult time getting to return your calls, let alone see you.

Along with that, facilitating relationships and putting people and companies together with the resources they require to be successful was a large part of what Mike did at REDeC. MiGreps has established partnerships with several, highly respected businesses here in North Central Ohio and Mike would be happy to introduce their people to you. The ultimate goal is to provide you with exceptional service and savings in these uncertain times.

Economic Development Consulting

Mike was the longest serving President of the Richland Economic Development Corporation (REDeC) in it’s 26 year history. The areas that he, through REDeC, was responsible for, included retention and expansion of the existing manufacturing and industrial base as well as the attraction of new companies to the county. During his tenure, Mike’s most satisfying work involved the saving of the 179th Airlift Wing from closure during the BRAC round in the middle of this decade. He served as co-chair of the REDeC/BRAC committee. The bottom line was that 1066 jobs were saved and more were added. He also was a member of Gov. Taft’s “All Ohio Task Force to Save Defense Jobs” committee.

Mike has worked closely with all of the economic development professionals in North Central Ohio, the Ohio Department of Development as well as many of our state’s elected officials on various retention and attraction projects. His 8 plus years of experience in moving expansion and attraction projects along can be an invaluable asset to you and your company in a variety of ways.

Under his leadership, REDeC conducted a countywide retention and expansion survey that was recognized by BREI (Business and Expansion International) with its Award of Excellence as the Outstanding Small Community BR&E Program in the country in 2004. That survey led to the founding, by REDeC, of the RichlandManufacturing Coaltion; a group of 50 manufacturers in the region that has become a center of business and political influence. Through MiGreps, you can put Mike’s experience and expertise to work for you.
